Howard County Historical Society Pipe Organ Concert and Fundraiser 11/21 with Nelda Clelland

Celebrate 189 Years of History Through Music!

Join us for a special afternoon at historic Emory United Methodist Church as we celebrate the church’s 189th anniversary with beautiful music and local history!

Enjoy a Historic Church Concert featuring organist Nelda Clelland, a local renowned classically trained pianist and organist who plays musical styles from ‘Bach to be-bop.’ It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Emory’s Pipe Organ through live music while celebrating nearly two centuries of community and tradition.

The musical program traces the evolution of Christian worship from formal continental European liturgies to the explosive growth of congregational singing, the development of American folk traditions, and the foundational identity of Methodism itself. In addition we’ll also see how Emory played a significant role in our community.
